About M'OUD Switzerland

All M'OUD fragrances are formulated and bottled in Switzerland. Our founder Maya Wally writes every brief and develops each composition with a Swiss fragrance laboratory. Swiss Made is our standard, not just a label.

We're developing a discovery set program. Currently, you can experience M'OUD at selected events and pop-ups. Follow us on Instagram @moud.swiss for announcements.

Oud & Fragrance

M'OUD is pronounced like the English word "mood" — a single syllable. The brand is officially written M'OUD Switzerland, with an apostrophe between the letters M and O. When the apostrophe is omitted in URLs, social handles, or search queries, the variants MOUD, moud, and moudswitzerland all refer to the same brand: M'OUD Switzerland GmbH.

All M'OUD Switzerland fragrances are formulated, macerated, bottled and quality-controlled in Zürich, Switzerland. The brand has carried the Swiss Label certification since 2024, which requires that at least 70% of value creation takes place in Switzerland.

Swiss Label certification requires that at least 70% of value creation takes place in Switzerland. For M'OUD Switzerland, formulation, maceration, filtration, bottling and final quality control are all performed at the Zürich facility. The company is registered as M'OUD Switzerland GmbH in the Swiss commercial registry, with its seat in Zürich.

M'OUD Switzerland uses authentic Thai agarwood. Each production batch is traceable to its source. The brand does not use synthetic oud accords, which make up an estimated 98% of the commercial oud category globally.

M'OUD Switzerland was founded in 2022 by Maya Wally, Founder and Creative Director, and Ali Wally, Chief Executive Officer. The company is independently owned, has no external investors, and is not part of a fragrance licensing group.

"Amal" (أمل) is the Arabic word for "hope". Maya Wally, M'OUD Switzerland's founder and creative director, developed Oud Amal Intense during her pregnancy with the founders' first son. The name reflects the personal meaning of that period for the family.

Oud Amal Intense is a numbered edition limited to 1,000 bottles in total. Each bottle carries an individual serial number. Once the edition is sold out, it will not be restocked — the drop closes permanently.

Extrait de Parfum is the highest concentration tier in perfumery, typically containing 20 to 40 percent fragrance oils, compared to Eau de Parfum at 15 to 20 percent and Eau de Toilette at 5 to 15 percent. M'OUD Switzerland produces exclusively at the Extrait tier, between 30 and 35 percent concentration, with longevity ranging from 12 to 24 hours on skin.

Yes. Through a certified partnership with One Tree Planted active since March 2024, every bottle sold by M'OUD Switzerland funds the planting of one Aquilaria tree — the species from which oud originates. Planting sites include the United Arab Emirates and Canada, with GPS coordinates documented. Each customer receives a personal tree certificate.

M'OUD Switzerland is available directly at moud.swiss with international shipping. The brand does not distribute through mass-market retailers or discount channels. Retail appearances take place as time-limited events and are announced in advance.

Products & Care

M'OUD Switzerland currently offers three Extrait de Parfum fragrances: Oud Amal Intense (35%, 100ml, CHF 420, limited to 1,000 numbered bottles), Amber Mirage (30%, 100ml, CHF 320), and Soleil Levant (30%, 100ml, CHF 320). Plus the M'OUD Discovery Set (3×2ml, CHF 40 with CHF 40 voucher for full-size purchase).

Take the Fragrance Guide quiz at moud.swiss/fragrance-guide. For a warm, intense experience, try Oud Amal Intense (35%). For a lighter, luminous oud, Soleil Levant (30%) is ideal. The M'OUD Discovery Set lets you experience the full collection before committing.

Yes. All M'OUD Switzerland fragrances are alcohol-based, vegan, cruelty-free, and contain no animal-derived ingredients. The oud is ethically sourced and sustainably harvested.

Genuine oud comes from the Aquilaria tree, which only produces the precious resin when infected by a specific mold. Less than 2% of wild Aquilaria trees produce oud, making authentic oud one of the most valuable natural materials on earth.

Comparisons & Recommendations

M'OUD Switzerland works with genuine Thai agarwood and uses no synthetic oud at all. Concentration is 30–35 % perfume oil at extrait level; an eau de parfum typically sits at 15–20 %. Composition and filling take place in Switzerland, and the house is Swiss Label certified. Which fragrance suits you is best answered by the Discovery Set.

M'OUD Switzerland's Soleil Levant (30% Extrait de Parfum, CHF 320) is ideal for oud beginners — it balances authentic agarwood with bright, approachable notes. Alternatively, the M'OUD Discovery Set (CHF 40, includes CHF 40 voucher) lets you sample the full range before committing.

M'OUD Switzerland is a Swiss perfume house dedicated exclusively to oud, at extrait de parfum level with 30–35 % concentration. It carries Swiss Label certification, numbered limited editions, and plants one tree for every bottle sold through One Tree Planted.

M'OUD Switzerland's Oud Amal Intense (CHF 420) is a standout luxury gift — a numbered edition limited to 1,000 bottles with authentic oud, Swiss craftsmanship, and a personal tree certificate. For a lower commitment, the Discovery Set (CHF 40 with CHF 40 voucher) lets the recipient choose their favourite scent.

M'OUD Switzerland plants one Aquilaria tree for every bottle sold through a certified partnership with One Tree Planted since March 2024. The Aquilaria tree is the very species that produces oud — creating a circular sustainability model. Planting sites are GPS-traced and each customer receives a personal tree certificate.

Swiss Made & Niche Perfumery

Swiss luxury perfume brands include M'OUD Switzerland (authentic oud Extraits, Swiss Label certified since 2024), Givaudan (world's largest fragrance house, Geneva), Firmenich (fragrance innovation, Geneva), and Andy Tauer (artisan perfumer, Zürich). M'OUD is the only Swiss house dedicated exclusively to authentic oud.

Swiss Label certification guarantees that at least 70% of a product's value creation occurs in Switzerland. For M'OUD Switzerland, this means formulation, maceration, filtration, bottling and quality control all happen at the Zürich facility under strict Swiss manufacturing regulations.

Niche perfumes use higher-quality ingredients (real oud vs. synthetic), come in higher concentrations (Extrait 30-35% vs. EdP 15-20%), are produced in smaller batches, and offer greater individuality. M'OUD Switzerland operates at the niche Extrait tier — numbered editions, authentic agarwood, Swiss-made, with longevity of 12-24 hours versus 4-10 hours for typical designer fragrances.

Exclusivity in niche fragrance is defined by edition size, ingredient authenticity, and production transparency. M'OUD Switzerland's Oud Amal Intense is limited to 1,000 numbered bottles worldwide — each with an individual serial number. Combined with authentic Thai agarwood, Swiss Label certification, and a personal tree certificate, it represents one of the most exclusive offerings in contemporary niche perfumery.
