Switzerland
Switzerland has almost no perfume houses of its own — a handful, most of them founded in the last twenty-five years. It has, however, produced a great deal of the world's fragrance. Both facts are worth explaining.
The short answer
Yes, but not in the way France or Italy have it. Switzerland's role in fragrance has mostly been industrial rather than public: much of what the world wears was composed in Swiss laboratories for houses whose names are on the bottle instead.
Houses that sell under their own Swiss name are few, and nearly all of them are recent. Below are the ones worth knowing.

What Swiss Made means here
No fragrance material of consequence grows in Switzerland. Jasmine does not, oud does not, sandalwood does not. What Switzerland contributes is what happens after the raw material arrives: the composition, how long it is left to rest, where the filtration line is drawn, how precisely it is filled.
For cosmetics the label is regulated rather than decorative. Beyond the general threshold for manufacturing costs, a separate ordinance requires that at least 80 per cent of research, development and manufacturing costs arise in Switzerland, and it names specific steps that must be carried out there.
