Composed in Zürich, bottled in Switzerland.
For you this means: what says Switzerland on a M’OUD bottle has been checked by an independent body.
What Swiss Made means for a perfume
No fragrance material of consequence grows in Switzerland: not oud, not jasmine, not sandalwood. What Switzerland contributes happens afterwards: composition, maturation, filling and control. At M’OUD this means: composed in Zürich, Oud Amal Intense matured for six months in Switzerland, bottled in Switzerland.
Why a certificate
“Swiss” is easily printed on a bottle. Swiss Label checks, as an independent body, whether origin and production match what is claimed. We are glad to answer questions about the certification personally.
Six months
Oud Amal Intense rests for six months in Switzerland before it is filtered and filled. During that time the components of the composition come together and the fragrance becomes rounder. Maturity cannot be rushed.
Filtration
How firmly to filter is decided batch by batch. Too firmly, and the fragrance loses body. Too gently, and haze forms in the bottle.
What the mark confirms
The crossbow mark is awarded by the Swiss Label association. It confirms the Swiss origin of the company and its manufacturing. It does not describe the raw material: oud does not grow in Switzerland.
“Swiss Made is not a marketing decision. It is a promise to do things properly, even when no one is watching.”
